WHAT ARE GOOGLE PAID ADS?
Google's paid ads (called Adwords) are the sponsored ads at the top of Google and down the right hand side of Google. The ads also feature on thousands
of other related industry websites. This gives your ad exposure to all the visitors on Google
as well as the visitors on those industry websites. These ads are separate from the left hand side listings on Google (called the organic area) which use a different form of marketing called Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Google's ad system (Adwords) uses a "pay per click" system. "Pay per click" means that you pay each time someone clicks on your ad and is sent through to your website. Your ads are therefore shown on Google for free, and you are only charged when someone clicks on the ad. The cost per click depends on the industry and the keywords that you wish to target.
For example... targeting something specific like "sydney school cleaning services" might cost 40c per click. However targeting something very competitive like "home loan" might cost $6 per click.
Compared to other forms of advertising (such as a printed ad in a magazine) which often do not guarantee any results, Google's ads are a smart form of advertising because you know exactly what you're getting for your expenditure.
Google alternates the ads that it shows to give all advertisers a fair chance at exposure on Google. The more you spend with Google, the more often your ads will be shown in the Google search and the higher up on the list your ads will be shown.

HOW DO I LIST MY BUSINESS IN GOOGLE'S ADS?
