WHAT IS A CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?
A Content Management System (or CMS for short) is the software that interfaces between you and your website. A CMS lets you updated the photos and information on your website at any time, rather than having to go through a website developer to do this for you on an ongoing basis.
There are a number of Content Management Systems available. For example you may have heard of "Joomla", "Os Commerce" or "Zen Cart" (just to name a few popular ones). Some CMS are quite difficult to use. Other CMS are only suitable for certain types of websites and may not suit the purpose of your website.
Any decent CMS should have a visual editor so that you can see your changes take place in real time rather than having to program your website changes by code.
